21 days to Heal Your hair: day 7: Hormones and hair.

Hi,

I am Lies Helsloot. I am not only blogging on this blog but also an entrepreneur, busy mom and the author of the upcoming book “The complete guide to healthy hair. A 3-step program to heal your hair.” Thank you for joining me on day 6 of “21 days to heal your hair”.

We women are incredible creatures. We are able to juggle work, family, responsibilities, time for exercise, and of top of that we have to cope with the influence of hormones.

Hormones have a profound impact on our lives. We all know they influence our mood, our weight and our overall feeling of well-being. They act up in all stages of life: we encounter them when going through puberty, when we are expecting, after birth, in perimenopauze and menopauze, …

Hormones are an essential part of our female bodies, but when they are out of balance they can make us feel tired, sad, puffed-up, sick and they can lead to hair loss and brittle, dry hair. So check out your hormone balances when you feel out of balance.

It is also important to eat well to achieve that optimal balance. There are may interesting and helpful books that can help you with that. In my own book, that will be launched soon, I refer to my good friend Haylie Pomroy, but also Suzanne Somers and Dr. Christiane Northrup have done an amazing job in helping us to understand the impact of hormones on our lives.

When you feel something isn’t right, talk to your doctor and ask to have your hormones checked. Especially when you go through one of the major periods in a woman’s life, like birth and menopauze, checking this out is a good thing.

I feel that we all deserve to feel good in our bodies and have healthy looking skin and hair.

The topic of hormones and hair is a very interesting one, so you can also read further on my blog or in my book. Subscribe to my newsletter and you will be kept in the loop.

Now this was day 7 in the first phase of this program where we talked about the relationship between hair, health and nutrition. In my next blog posts the next 7 days where I will teach you to “Take you time”. See you in another video!

P.S. I am receiving a lot of questions by mail and through the contact pages, but I encourage you to post your comments below, so we can share them with all my followers. Thank you for sharing.
