21 days to Heal Your hair: day 3: Food and exercise to grow healthy hair.
Hi,
I am Lies Helsloot. I am not only blogging on this blog but also an entrepreneur, busy mom and the author of the upcoming book “The complete guide to healthy hair. A 3-step program to heal your hair.” Thank you for joining me on day 3 of “21 days to heal your hair”.
On day one we talked about how protein can help you grow healthy hair. I often get remarks from my audience saying that: “Well… Isn’t hair dead material?… so how can better eating habits and supplementation change that?”
Well, they are right saying that the hairshaft itself is “dead” material, but the root of your hair is an active part of your hair that makes it grow. For that process you need the right nutrients from your food to provide the energy for that growth process. Eating healthy and balanced will send nutrients and thus the necessary building blocks to the hair follicle to fuel your hair to grow.
Also nourishing the hair follicle with oxygen rich blood is crucial to stimulate your hair to grow fast, healthy and strong. You can pump more oxygen into your blood vessels by eating well and taking time to exercise. Getting your 10.000 steps a day by brisk walking in my opinion is a good foundation and when you top that with some muscle building activities like pilates, yoga or weight lifting your body will get into the best shape to grow healthy hair.
So don’t just say your hair is dead, because the process of growing hair is a very live one. I hope you get my point that taking care of your health and fitness levels will also help your hair.
