21 days to Heal Your hair: day 10: Breathing for healthy hair.
Welcome on my blog! Thank you for joining me on day 10 of “21 days to heal your hair”.
Today I would like to show you a simple technique that can help you to relax. It helps you to reduce stress which will benefit your hair since it will reduce the production of the stress hormone cortisol which can cause hair loss and other health problems. It might seem a bit silly but I am talking about breathing. Just focussing on your breath is a very powerful tool that can give you peace and comfort. It doesn’t cost a penny and you can do it anytime and anywhere.
Breathing is a vital part of living. Breathing can help you to better regulate your state of mind, it can help you to control your emotions, can help you to concentrate, and of course fills up your lungs with oxygen. Oxygen is then eventually being transported to your hair follicles, and this is crucial for growing healthy hair.
Learning to breathe the right way can help you to be more healthy, more calm and it is a powerful tool to handle stressful situations. To breath well you have to make use of your abdomen, your stomach muscles.
Push your stomach out while inhaling, and let it come back in naturally while exhaling.
Now take a deep breath through your nose. Hold it for 5 seconds. Now exhale through your mouth. Do this a couple of times and you will feel calmer and more relaxed. It also helps you to fall a sleep.
